A poem for the lost widow
The ghost of a smile in her eyes,
The trace of laugh in her throat,
These are things i’d die to see
Or hear her beautiful song note for note.
I wish i could see her cheeks emit
That perfect golden glow.
The things i would do to see her face,
Some things she’ll never know
If there is anyone out there
Who has seen her, just like me
I’d give anything to know you
Because i’ve lost her, and now i can’t see.
So if you ever see her
Tell her i said this
“I’d die once more to see you smile
And I’d do much more for a kiss.”
I can’t take joy in beauty,
For i only see her face,
I know there’s not one person,
Who could ever take her place.
